Due to loss of water pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is requiring many of the area cities, MUDs and Water Districts to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption.
That means water used for washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking should be boiled.
Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions, MUD 12 officials said in a social media alert.
The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
