I checked on the work Saturday morning and was disappointed. Sailfish was reduced to one lane and there were no flagmen as the City had been promised by Centerpoint.
I contacted BVPD and the CenterPoint subcontractor about the lack of traffic control. Long story short, it took about forty minutes to get the asphalt contractor to deploy some flagmen and to return Sailfish to two way traffic.
The asphalt subcontractor had been specifically instructed NOT to reduce Sailfish to one way traffic. But he did. The point is this: PLEASE BE CAREFUL when you travel through this intersection. On Saturday, despite the best intentions of Centerpoint Construction Management, safety at this intersection was less than optimal.
Starting Tuesday, BVPD will be managing traffic flow through that intersection much of the time, roughly during daytime work hours. Please cooperate with our officers' directions and whatever delays we experience will be minimized.
