I did NOT say that there would be no Trick or Trunk this year; a few weeks ago I said that the Chief and I would look at our circumstances with regard to COVID and decide at a later date whether the City Lot could be used for Trick or Trunk. Chief is the City's Emergency Management Coordinator and I am the City's Emergency Management Director.

The Chief and I conferred on Friday. We examined the COVID statistics published by the County Health Department. Bayou Vista cases were then back into single digits and (like County-wide numbers) were trending downward. Unlike last year a significant number of people in Bayou Vista are now vaccinated.

Accordingly, we made the decision to let people park and open their trunks for trick or treaters this year on the City Lot.
