Gulf freeway to be closed in both directions between NASA Bypass & FM 518

Northbound and southbound Interstate 45 will be closed in full between FM 518 and the NASA Bypass on Saturday (6/10/2023) between 6 AM and 12 PM.

This closure is to prepare for the opening of 4 lanes in both directions that will stretch from FM 517 to the NASA Bypass.

If you are headed north on I-45, you will exit to FM 518 and continue onto the frontage road and reenter the mainlanes at the next available entrance.

If you are headed south on I-45, you will exit to FM 518 and continue onto the frontage road and reenter the mainlanes at the next available entrance.

At noon on Saturday, northbound I-45 from state Highway 96 to the NASA Bypass will have 2 alternating lanes closed until Monday (6/12/2023) at 5 AM.

During the closure, they will be working on overhead signs on the freeway.

Expect delays. Take an alternate route.
