Heat Advisory in effect through Friday night

A Heat Advisory is in effect through 10 PM Friday.

Heat index values are slightly lower than Wednesday (6/21/2023). The peak heat index for Thursday in the Galveston Bay Area is 102 degrees.

If thunderstorms develop on Thursday, day or night, they can become strong to severe. Storms could form locally during the day and move into the area from the north tonight.

Like Wednesday, the primary threat is damaging wind gusts, with hail as a secondary threat. The main difference from Wednesday is that there is less indication that we may see any storms form at all.

Expect temperatures and heat index values to go back up on Saturday (6/24/2023) and Sunday (6/25/2023) and continue into next week.
