⚠️ HEAT ALERT: Excessive heat warning for Sunday issued by NWS

The latest from the Houston/Galveston office of the National Weather Service

• Dangerous heat will continue on Sunday (6/25/2023) for the Harris County and north west portions of the i45NOW coverage area while a heat advisory for the rest of the area through 9 PM.

• Heat index values may reach 113 or higher Sunday afternoon.

Overview
The Heat Advisory was upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for most inland areas through 9 PM.

Heat will still be dangerous in areas covered by the advisory, with heat index values of 108-112 possible.

Additional Advisories/Warnings are expected throughout the course of the week as the hot pattern of late shows little signs of easing up.
