Case on point is the current water service to the Bayou Vista community. Repairs need to be made. The repairs are going to cause the water service to be off for a duration of 4 to 6 hours is the estimate. Considering when those 4 to 6 hours of no water will happen seems to accommodate the people being paid to do the work. So, a period of 4 to 6 hours was to happen at 9AM. Did the public servants consider that the community of 1000s are deprived of all their needs for several hours of the most active part of the day in making the decision.
Most of the community complaining indicates that the public servant’s decision process was more to accommodate the people being paid to do the work. A decision made in the best interest of the people they were supposed to serve the hours of interruption would be those when water was least likely needed - at night.
The considerations of money – cost of working at night – setting up lighting – and considerations of circumstance – cooler working conditions – noise disturbing proximity residences – a unforeseen need not planned for would not be available at night – etc., were all thought through in making the decision?
Well, most of the community believes that the public servants either failed to go to that extent, or that if they did make all the possible evaluations and decided to (start at 9Am), it was not the best decision, as a PUBLIC servant.
This deluded – not putting the public interest FIRST – has infected most of (and especially the Federal) public servants.
