GALVESTON
Northbound Interstate 45 construction north of the causeway that has slowed traffic for days will continue through Saturday afternoon, the Texas Department of Transportation said in a statement Friday.
Construction crews, which are repairing and resurfacing two lanes of the interstate, have constricted traffic and annoyed causeway commuters this week between Tiki Drive and FM 519 in La Marque.
Transportation department officials on Friday said construction would continue Saturday starting at 4 a.m. and wrap up at 2 p.m.
