Bayou Vista man arrested after child porn raid
UPDATE 10:15 AM:
A 31-year-old Bayou Vista man was arrested Wednesday (1/31/2024) morning after of a raid for child porn.
Trevor Pape, 31, was arrested on the charge of Possession of Child Porn with a $100,000 bond, Hitchcock Police Captain Jeff Evans confirmed.
While the investigation is ongoing, Evans said they found a “significant amount” of child porn.
This started with an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), who turned to Hitchcock PD to lead the raid.
The raid happened in the 600 block of Warsaw Street in Bayou Vista.
The task force in the Wednesday raid consisted of Hitchcock Police, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Texas City Police, Bayou Vista Police, Pearland Police, Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Hitchcock Police Lieutenant Brian Rusk said they do child porn searches “entirely too often.”
Additionally, Texas City ESD K9 Nibble was also used in the search. Nibble was trained to smell a chemical compound that is on all electronic storage devices called Triphenylphosphine Oxide (TPPO).
