A resident received a response from the TxDot spokesperson yesterday. Danny Perez said: We are focusing on getting the 1765 exit open. Due to a utility conflict, we were not able to open the ramp as originally scheduled for earlier this week. We sent an update including the revised ramp opening date of Monday, March 11 to La Marque, Texas City and Galveston city officials on Saturday March 2. The contractor is currently working to wrap up the remaining paving needed to open the ramp. This ramp will be open this weekend.

With the FM 1765 exit ramp closed, we are seeing a heavy increase in traffic using the FM 519 exit. Beginning yesterday and continuing until we open the FM 1765 exit, we have an off-duty officer manually controlling the traffic signal at I-45/FM 519 daily during the evening rush hour (2 p.m. to 7 pm.) to reduce the backups.
