Gulf Freeway closed from Delany Road to Texas City Wye for fatal crash investigation

• Freeway is not expected to reopen until afternoon

As La Marque police investigate a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 45, the freeway is closed in both directions.

The southbound lanes and feeder road of I-45 are closed from Delany Road to the Texas City Wye.

All southbound traffic is being diverted to Delany to state Highway 6 in Hitchcock.

Southbound motorists can rejoin Interstate 45 at state Highway 6.

Northbound traffic is closed at the Texas City Wye, so motorists can get to state Highway 3 or state Highway 146.

Northbound motorists can rejoin Interstate 45 at FM 1765.
