TRAFFIC ALERT: Small stretch of Gulf Freeway down to one lane for construction, causing huge backup
• Southbound traffic backed up from TC Wye to past Bayou Road in La Marque
Just in time for Cinco de Mayo and Historic Homes Tour in Galveston this weekend, TxDOT has a closure that will affect southbound traffic.
Southbound at SH-6/SH-146 near the Texas City Wye, 2 Alternate Lanes Closed continuously until 5PM Sunday (5/5/2024).
Traffic will be diverted to one lane for the small stretch before reopening to all lanes.
