The residents of Bayou Vista, including aldermen, have grave concerns regarding your lack of communication and lack of services offered to the residents. There was not a cooling center, distribution of ice and water daily, information regarding the return of electricity and internet and other failures.
The orders that you gave to the police chief to stop citizens from distributing hot meals to residents who were in need was cruel. Other residents had been going up and down our streets distributing food and ice for several days at their personal expense. There was a burger distribution under the community center the prior day and approximately 200 residents were fed. This was Bayou Vista helping our own.
You as mayor should have help us during this time. Instead you ignored our needs and your actions lead to Houston new stations showing the worst side of Bayou Vista. While we were sweltering, you hid from the television cameras in your cold office, wearing a poncho to stay warm.
The citizens are requesting a town hall as soon as possible to have their questions and concerns addressed. Please schedule a Town Hall on July 23, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the MUD 12 building. The Agenda to be posted on Friday, July 19, 2024 need only state the one item of Public Concerns.
Thank you for your corporation
