While giving to others in time of need is a great thing, doing it in violation of city procedures is not.
What happened last week is that everybody under-estimated the storm, the media, the officials, and me and probably you. Otherwise, some of us would have at least thought about leaving.
If you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at GOD. The rest of us are pretty much innocent by-standers, including the trash guys who do such a good job, the postal person who we all appreciate, and your neighbor who is okay most of the time.
This is not the time to destroy the city government just because we've proven in the past that we could destroy the MUD board or that we could run the multi-agency task force doing the water study of Highland Bayou, Omega Bay and Bayou Vista out of town because we didn't like all their ideas.
Please take a breath and remember IKE was a major disaster and the only reason we had ice and water was because the National Guard brought it in everyday and trust me it was very much appreciated! (Days on end with out service), this was not the same thing.
