TEMPORARY DISASTER EXEMPTION – DEADLINE 10/21/2024
Tax Code Section 11.35 allows for a chief appraiser to determine if a property qualifies for a temporary exemption based on a damage assessment. The exemption applies only to a qualified property, which includes improvements to real property, business personal property, and mobile homes used as a dwelling.
To apply for a temporary disaster exemption, complete the Temporary Exemption Property Damaged by Disaster form (Form 50-312) and return by mail (9850 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Ste A * Texas City, TX 77591), email (gcad@galvestoncad.org), or dropped off in-person at our office during normal business hours.
The deadline to apply for a temporary exemption related to Hurricane Beryl is October 21, 2024.
