Not necessarily true that, the constant turnover (sales) which means old citizens leave and new enter our stable community is (turn-over) a good reason to be the cheerleader to arouse Bayou Vista to a celebration of and as "Great News".
I understand your (a realtor) enthusiasm and point of view. While understanding I do not have enthusiasm for possible “progressive” changes to our stable community’s peace and tranquility.
Certainly, the realtors and cad (taxing entities) enjoy the increase in their revenues as the prices of homes go up.
Sellers are incentivized for many reasons. Some to reap a financial reward from tax-free homestead churning. Some have surrendered the struggling to meet the increasing tax burdens. All while, the real estate professionals do their best to promote and incentivize any reluctant (known prospect) seller with any tool they can apply – fee negotiation, doing all the details, finding the next churn property, etc.
The enjoyment of having a home in a stable, peaceful community is what is best celebrated and that in itself is a buyer incentive not needing promotion.
Especially attractive is that while the surrounding communities are experiencing chaos Bayou Vista has been insulated. Not insulated by overt security actions but simply because civility is the primary endeavor of all our resident citizens.
A few examples of civility to stressful occurrences’: No incidents of police unjustified actions or brutality during confrontations or arrests - Our community's reasonable reactions to flaws of the public services - i.e., water quality in canals. These illustrate BV’s quality of constant civility that should be celebrated.
Knowing this diatribe will have no effect it is cathartic to my anxiety on the state of our society.
Please God, please, Bless Bayou Vista and America.
Re: Happy July 4th! Great News in Bayou Vista & Omega Bay *28 homes closed in May & June.
Points well made. I think the Greatest news is that we can vote. Early voting is open for the Primary leading up to the General Election in November. Even though there might not be a contest in the primary that you are eligible to vote in IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO VOTE!!! Much of the data collected from the primary is used and sometimes misused to forecast what is going to happen in November. Don't let your candidate down by not voting in the Primary. As a citizen of these great UNITED STATES OF AMERICA it is your duty to vote. Please!!! God Bless America!! Chuck, retired Veteran and proud of serving. 713 724 5472
