I read an article about a year ago, that saved my dog's life yesterday. The article was about a dog that died from eating sugar free gum. At the time I thought, how much gum did he eat? The answer is it only takes one piece to poison them, due to the ingredient Xylitol. I dropped a piece of gum yesterday and Decker grabbed it. He was hospitalized yesterday and it was unsure for a while that he would make it. I got him there quick and it appears he's going to be OK, but if I hadn't read that article I would probably have not paid it much attention. I hope you don't ever find yourself in that situation, but now you know. There are many sugar free products that contain Xylitol. My Decker Boy is tough! He's overcome parvo and rat poison, but unbelievably the piece of gum almost got him! Have a great day, Diane Dollar
