Boat Parade

I have been unable to find any information regarding what this entails. Will the boats travel down every canal so that the parade can be viewed from my house?

Yes, they travel down every canal.
The Christmas Boat Parade has always been on the second Saturday in December. They alternate the starting canal, so this year it will be on the Blue Heron/Sailfish canal.
This is a volunteer effort.
Decorate your waterfront and enjoy the parade!

NOTE; if you live on Lakeside dr. the boats do not come down Highland bayou for some reason. They used to all meet up in the open area inside the highway 6 bridge. kinda like leaving the old section out. SHAME SHAME

Sorry Connie Mac, but the logistics just got too overwhelming for me. Going down the bayou from the old Pete's just got too tough. Also, it would only pass by those houses that were facing the bayou, not the majority of Original BV which are not front line. I changed it many, many years ago, so that we could continue the tradition with enough boats to last most of the parade. This has come up before, but never reached a suitable arrangement.
So sorry you think it is SHAME, SHAME. You are always welcome to stop by my place (with the Grandkids) when they are gathering in front for the kick-off, or visit a friends place in BV2. Sometimes we have to make decisions which are tough.

Thanks for supporting and working for us to have a parade every year. I watch human behavior and have come to understand that you cannot please everyone.
