Appeal Your Appraisal

I was trying to wait until I received the video power point of my class but apparently everyone is ready right now.
My first protest class is April 27th at 6 pm at the Galveston Courthouse on 21st. League City Council Chambers on May 13th.
RIGHT NOW...everyone needs to complete the Property Owners Notice of Protest form that came with the appraisal notice and request a copy of all documents used to increase your value.
No informals without doing this.
Only e-file if you have good documents like a recent fee appraisal or a recent contract for less.

Thanks for the forward Carrie. Cheryl usually has good info. I use to get her emails but not recently. Can you tell me how to get back on her email notices?

Thanks Carrie. I've been on the web site and saw Cheryl's schedule. There is also a downloadable workbook link that I printed. It has a lot of information. Maybe too much. It is bordering on confusing with info most do NOT need for a successful appeal. Each of us will have to make up our own mind.

I efiled the same day I received my appraisal. Galveston county raised me from 290,000 to 319910. I stated the reasons that I thought it should be lower. I received a settlement of 272,500 before the day was over. I was not asked to send documentation. I was asked what I thought it should be and I stated on the form that it should stay at 290,000. They dropped it to 272,500.

OK, don't mean to sound like a downer, but you should pay attention. Several years ago i signed up for an appeal at the Galveston county appraisal district in La Marque. 4 woman, 1 man (maybe 80+ years old). The 4 woman an 1 man were appointed by a judge, an the apprailal distric had 1 employee there. so it was me against 6 of them to convince them they were out of line. really didn't go well cause when it was my turn to talk the 80+ year was sleeping right in front of me, so i slammed my hand on the table an startled him, asking him if he was all right. He was embarrassed an threw out my appeal. I don't know who the judge was, but if i did, i would of probably gone to jail. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AN APPEAL WITH THERE COMMITTE, DO IT ON LINE, NOT INFRONT OF THERE GOLF BUDDIES.
