Bayou Vista and Omega Bay separate Christmas Golf Cart Parades this year

Omega Bay Improvement Committee who sponsored the parade decided to have a separate Christmas Golf Cart Parade this year because of the danger of crossing highway 6. The parade had originally started in Omega Bay 12 years ago. I was chairman of the parade in 2020 and co-chairman for many years. Vista Real Estate decided to sponsor the parade and continue with the parade in Bayou Vista since many people in Bayou Vista like to participate and everyone enjoys the parade.

Mark Johnston has placed an entry form at the top of the Bayou Vista Message Board before the messages. I plan on putting the entry form each week on the message board and on Bayou Vista face book. I will also leave the form at our local businesses. Also you can pick up a form at Vista Real Estate on Bonita. We look forward to a great Christmas Golf Cart Parade! Strange excuse to have a separate parade. People cross Highway 6 all the time in golf carts.

The BV Police Dept. & the Fire Dept. have always made it a safe environment to cross Hwy 6 during the parade. With all the Lights & Sirens going off you can't miss it. Thank you to the BV Fire Dept & PD!

As to before & after the parade, people cross everyday. I don't understand the logic.
