Congressman Randy Weber and District Clerk John Kinard are sponsoring Passport Day from 10AM to 2PM Saturday (5/6/2023) at the North County Annex in League City.
It is recommended that a traveler renew his or her passport approximately nine months before it expires since some countries and airlines require passports to remain valid for up to six months after travel. If a passport has been expired for more than five years, a traveler must reapply as if they are a first-time applicant. Renewing a passport early also helps reduce any costs of expedited services. Mailing times are not included in the processing times.
To apply for a passport, one must bring:
Proof of citizenship - an original certified physical copy, not displayed on a phone or tablet. A certified copy will have the issuing authority’s stamp on it. A current or expired passport.
United States birth certificate - must list full name, date of birth, place of birth, parents name, must be dated and have the date it was filed with registrar’s office (must be within one year of date of birth), must be signed by the registrar and stamp of issuing authority.
A consular report of birth abroad
Certificate of naturalization - must have the stamp of official entity and must be signed.
