blowing up the bridge

i heard a rumor that when the freeway expansion is done they will be retiring that extension of railroad track. if they do i wonder if they will take down or blow up the bridge. has anyone else heard about that.

the one line coming out of galveston branches into 3 lines there at virginia point, one goes into bayouvista and the other two go north according to google

BNSF goes ofer the BV bridge, Union Pacific is the one thru LaMarque.
