Exit Ramp Permenant Closure

ALERT

The City wanted to provide notification of the upcoming permanent closure of the WB SH6 Exit ramp (Exit 7B) beginning December 1, 2023. This closure will be used to construct the new bridge over SH6/SH146.

Summary of Exit Ramp Closures:

Exit Ramp Open: Sunday, November 19, 2023 - Thursday, November 30, 2023

Exit Ramp Permanent Closure: Beginning December 1, 2023

I have tried to find more information on this exit ramp closure. So is the northbound exit to Bayou Vista going to closed permanently or until the project is over? Like I said I could not find any additional information on the city website or elsewhere.

Are there plans for a better/more convenient permanent solution—like an actual exit for our neighborhood rather than what is currently being recommended as a detour?

Yes, there will be an intersection like the one by Walmart and the one in La Marque but it will take quiet some time for that work to be completed. There will be a new bridge over SH6/SH146 as part of the ongoing I-45 construction.
