Just saw this guy on the Ling/Pompano canal.

Otters and alligators have always visited BV.
A BIG one was caught On September 23, 2001.

And thanks for that brief trip down memory lane!
BV is a pretty great place and more people should start using the message board again. Remember the good ole days with the Three Amigos? Wow, you had to get in line to just to post.

They get pushed down the bayou by the heavy rains and get lost in the canals.

They were at the water plant end of the canal.

there is just 1 looks to be about 3FT maybe 4FT Today he is swimming slowly towards the other end he looks to be about 12 or more houses down from the water plant it is a crocodile not an alligator we looked up the shape of the snout

almost certainly not a croc, they don't live here

Unless someone turned their pet loose, in which case it would be desirable for you to call him/her back home so we can stop worrying about him/her.
Officials do not usually take action until the gator is aggressive toward a human or pet, theoretically, they were here before us and have squatter's rights.

He probably got chased out of his habitate

by a bigger guy as mating season is starting. He will probably keep moving unless people start feeding him (which I believe is against the law).
In any case, keep a vigil eye out and children and fuzzy pets under supervision and away from the water. Call police if he is in your yard is my thought.

guess he moved on, haven't seen him since wednesday
which is fine by us!
