📆 CITIZENS MEETING - Since our city officials & Mayor decided not to come together to call a Town Hall meeting as requested, I’m going to host a citizens meeting and will have our County Commissioner here to answer questions and offer suggestions. This is not an official City event, it is a private event that citizens are invited to and can attend as long as you either respond on this post or pm me so I can get a good count. I will host it off city property in my own backyard so City Officials can not prevent us from meeting. If the response is greater than I can hold, I have an option for a larger space. This will be Thursday evening, July 25th at 6:00. I will provide ice chests with bottled water, just bring a lawn chair to sit on. Since many don’t read this msg board, if you have a neighbor or friend in BV who you think may want to attend, please feel free to share this info. This event is for non-elected citizens, not City officials, to prevent anyone from “hijacking” a meeting that they refused to hold. If you have suggestions for things our City and OEM need to do better regarding hurricane response, please list up to 5 items on a piece of paper & bring them with you. Barbie Schwalm Miller will collect these and type them up in one format to be presented to the Mayor, Alderman and OEM/chief at an upcoming council meeting. Again, if you want to participate, please respond here, pm or email me and I will put you on the list so I know for how many to plan. I will acknowledge your notification so you know I’m counting you in. If you don’t respond, please don’t expect to participate. Hopefully this will give concerned homeowners an opportunity to come together and start working on solutions and get input from our County Commissioner.
Vicki Lumb and I were not able to engage a 3rd alderman for a Special Called Meeting.

Please post a detailed list of agenda items to be discussed at the meeting so that currently “unconcerned” citizens can determine whether they want to know more, get involved, attend, and/or have their two-cents worth heard.
If the only agenda item is to find ways and means to get rid of our recently re-elected mayor (by a wide margin) and/or our long time chef (which is the current rumor) then feel no need to respond.
Re: Please post a detailed list of agenda items so that currently “unconcerned” citizens
I do not believe there is an agenda just an opportunity to collect and submit questions to the Council and the mayor. Residents will have an opportunity to be heard. Commissioner Giusti is attending to explain how emergencies should be handled according to the County and City emergency plans. Elected officials will not be attending, the meeting will not be filmed and does not sound like an attempt to remove personnel but to find better ways to serve and protect our residents during the next disaster. It sounds like Ms. Inman has a well planned event to benefit Bayou Vista.
