WAIT AGNESS!! The MAYOR IS A WOMAN, could that be the root cause of the all disrespect????

Her only real claim to fame is having been City Secretary for maybe 20 or 30 years, learning from and rescuing the best and the worst mayors Bayou Vista has had. She probably knows more about what the job requires than anyone, particularly our council people, but as I understand it, they are planning an Executive meeting on Tuesday to straighten her out. (Executive Sessions are reserved for very important issues and we, the public, are not allowed to attend.) The good news is that the attorney will be there to make sure everybody behaves, but to be a fly on the wall!
I mean, really who does she think she is anyway? She’s going around making decisions not based on what may be popular at the moment, but what in her opinion is best for the city at that moment. That’s her role as MAYOR/EMERGENCY MANAGER, that’s her duty!
A telling thing I heard at the last meeting was, “my Mother never talked to me like that”. Well, there is a difference, your Mother loves you and the Mayor is just trying to do her job and she is your boss! (I know she liked you once, because she told me so and I voted for you as a result.)
But can we count on her going around acting all like “big BOSS-MAN” in the future?
Yes, I think so if that is what is required to get the job done!

Name a single thing she got right during the emergency. We'll wait. No water. No ice. No cooling center. Had no idea what rights the city had to provide aid to its own citizens. Didn't block off the entrances, didn't provide adequate protection. Didn't ask for aid from the county, that was willing and able to supply ice and water yo those without. Shut private citizens down when they stepped up to offer help or give help. Name something she did for citizens, one thing. You can't. You're the biggest ass kisser this town has ever seen.
I hear your points about how things could have been done differently and that you made them in a calm matter of fact way is appreciated. My posts are directed to those whose level of vitriol is off the charts. We will never agree on everything, but we can work toward improvement and understanding without losing our minds. What seems missing is the realization that the mayor was honestly trying the best job she could for the city without sharing all the reasons with the angry mob. It appears that most of us who support the mayor didn’t realize how much people were suffering since we were not, and what we heard was that it was mostly about being denied a free hamburger.
