Do you or anyone you know need some assistance during times of an emergency event? The STEAR program is a free registry that provides local emergency planners and emergency responders with additional information on the needs in their community.STEAR stands for State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry. WHO SHOULD REGISTER?
People with disabilities People who are medically fragile People with access and functional needs such as: People who have limited mobility People who have communication barriers People who require additional medical assistance during an emergency event People who require transportation assistance People who require personal care assistance Signing up is free and confidential! You can easily sign up post surgery when you are not able to drive, then remove yourself once you can drive again. One should re-register each year as the state of Texas realizes that circumstances change, and want the information to be current. Attached is a flyer for STEAR that has information on the various ways to get registered.
