I have a 2024 Sun Tracker Bass Buggy 16XL pontoon boat that is about to go to the shop to fix a motor for not peeing. While it is in there, I was thinking about having the fish finder upgraded and an electric anchor winch installed. Wanted to get some experienced neighbors' opinions on both if possible.
1) The stock fish finder that came with the boat is not nearly as accurate as I'd like it to be for all of the shallow water we need to navigate around. Are there any particular features, models and/or brands folks would recommend? My top priority is that the new fish finder have real-time, as accurate as possible depth readings so I can avoid hitting mud in shallow areas.
2) I'd love thoughts on any electric anchor winch systems and anchors that work best for our area. I've not had a great deal of luck with standard anchors but that is most likely due to me being an extreme novice (this is my first boat).
