I wanted to bring some awareness to the app/website Nextdoor. At face value it seems like a great idea to bring a community together to stay informed about local events, give suggestions about contractors/restaurants, etc. In reality, though, the site is hopelessly plagued by scam/fraud accounts. These take a few forms: unbelievable rentals, fake job opportunities, fake dating profiles and the list goes on and on. Please exercise extreme caution as it breaks my heart to see members of my community fall victim to these scammers. On a positive note, I'd like to extend my very sincerest thanks to the administrators of this message board as I have never seen a fraudulent post here. Please stay safe out there neighbors!
