Yet the 2016 NC750S I had before the RE had very soft Bridgestones (020 IIRC) as OEM fitment. No issues with grip on those, wet or dry. The front was down to 2mm by 4000 miles, though, and the rear would not have done no more than another 1000 at most - had it not ingested a woodscrew on the way home from the service. Replaced with a pair of Continental Road Attack 3s.
Mrs B's V7 Special has Pirelli Sport Deamons as OEM tyres - the original "Never-wear-out" Bakelite tyres ! A pair of Road Attack 3s will be fitted before long, well before the OEM carp wears out. Cheaper to change them out than repair the bike when they let go unexpectedly.
