I think the problem may be stainless spokes = plain steel aren't as brittle so last longer? Also I was once told they couldn't cope with the power pulses of a big single (choose whatever size of pinch of salt you want to take with that). Certainly regular spoke breaking would not have been tolerated on a military bike that was intended to withstand the rigours of warfare and squaddies maintainence (whichever was more destructive!) and maybe their hubs were laced differently?
I don't recall if the lower cam belt pulley nut is lefthand tread but I do know it will be loctited and torqued extremely tight.
Maybe IKBA's Richard / NVNL will know as he has a MT350
