Steve, my boy has had continuous insurance on his R111 for 7 years with PJ and happy with the premium. His renewal was sent out early but he forgot about it until 2 days after his policy expired. Phoned them up explaining as a key worker with the Military, he was more than a little too busy and forgot. Could he pay now. Reply was they wanted an extra 10 pound admin fee. Asked if it could be waved, the man asked his supervisor and the reply was no. Therefore, he told them to stuff their insurance up their bunghole. I have always found it odd they insure his R111 with a 7 year licence but not mine with 50 years licence and no claims at all. This week, i will see how he gets on with other quotes from a few companies. He has used AA for the Honda but often changes companies on that classic bike.
In these times, i wonder who was responsible for losing a valuable customer when most companies are trying to get the money in.
My car insurance have sent me a cheque for 50 pounds as they say claims have been lower due to Covid 19 and lack of car use. P and O have offered 125% credit on my holidays, LV have insured my house and contents at 100 pounds. VW have offered to sell a car to me at 7000 pounds discount. Many good offers from companies struggling along.
It seems incredible that a small broker like PJ should not be a little flexible towards a key worker who missed by 2 days due to pressure within the military camp. He is on 2 weeks leave now so we are off on a few jollies locally if the weather is good.
