There is something about doing a long trip on a small bike that makes it almost a different mode of transport to a big bike and I've had a lot of enjoyment out of going long distances on the B120 in recent years. Its not just been some kind of second rate penance I've had to put up with because none of the bigger stuff was available or running, the bike has been at the core of what I've been doing.
Leon's postie bike challenge for example. If people were doing that on 1200GSs or ex P-D bikes it would hardly rate a mention. Similarly the Mongol Rally or Scooters in the Sahara. While hardly in the same league I've been trying to find the time for a trip to Turkey on the B120 and at the same time planning US trips on the GoldWing. Back in the 70's I went bigger pretty much each time I changed bikes but eventually maxed out - the Kawasaki Z1300 was the first bike I looked at and thought 'no, too big'. Since then I've been drifting around size wise, picking and choosing what works best for me- both big and small. Both equally enjoyable in their own way.
