Two years ago I overheard my sons planning a trip to Spain to celebrate the younger's 40th birthday. I told them they weren't going without me. None of us are 'Bikers'; not interested in speed, racing or gizmos. They use theirs to commute and my bikes have always been for adventuring (I'm 75).
I had just bought my first bike that was less than 50 yrs old, a new Honda CBF 125 (the 'Grudge Special') which was all I could manage whilst learning to ride again (in effect, one armed) following a serious accident.
We rode to central Spain and back in 8 days. The Honda at a bum-numbing 8,200rpm at 60mph and a zillion gear changes was very hard work and they were patient but we had a fabulous adventure.
