But the "news" is all like "The Weather Channel".
When all you do is report on Weather 24/7/365, everyone gets bored pretty quick, so they have to spice it up a bit.
"The weather for Spout Spring, Virginia today is for 90 degree temperatures, light winds, 50% humidity, and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Kayla, tell us some things about thunderstorms."
"Well, Josh, thunderstorms form when a warm air mass collides with colder air from higher altitudes, forming clouds and rain. They can also include high winds, AND LIGHTNING AND THUNDER AND TORNADOES AHHHHHHHHH! HERE'S A VIDEO OF A TORNADO DESTROYING A TOWN, AHHHHHHH! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! Now back to you Josh".
Nothing's changed from when I were a lad. We've just all been sensitized to weather because we hyperventilate over the news coverage all day and start believing what they want us to believe ....
