Ah,but you see, i am an expert on outdoor lighting systems after working in the electrical installations for 50 years . Some of this might help those wanting an energy efficient lighting system that is reliable. Half of my lighting is run on 12 volt batteries charged by solar. I design systems just for fun now and to keep the tools in use. Another fitting for the garage comes next week and low output as it is at 9 foot hieght on the pavement with opal diffusion to avoid dazzle. If you see houses fitted with lights that dazzle cars or people, they are fitted by unskilled operators or DIY. I have a fence to cut off light to the road on my automatic lighting caused by people entering the various gates. No light will come on unless going through the gate or leaving the house. The large output units are manually switched if i hear anyone entering or a disturbance. It is impossible to enter my gates undetected by one of the systems. The cameras will have captured your image before entering anyway. I can watch this on an ipad indoors on a split screen. I record 12 days in HD. Just doing this on my own house now but i do advise on installations at times.
One expert told me they wanted yellow SON 70 watt lights throughout a very large complex. I advised another system and they said they were experts and dont need advise. After installing 160 lighting posts and removing white mercury lighting, they realised the cameras could not now see if people were black or white. Most images recorded were blacked out anyway. i suggested maybe its because you fitted the lights in front of the cameras instaed of behind. Complete idiots but they were my bosses. Never fit a light in front of a camera. Rule 1.
Tomorrow, i am installing a very powerful strobe light in the garden at low level on remote switching. it will temporarily blind anyone still in my garden . It will be 6 colours flashing at the rate of 10 flashes a second. It is as bright as a camera flash lamp. That should move them on to another house. I would love to have a tazer. !
Seriously though, most houseowners do need a form of lighting deterrent and these can be wash or sconce fittings producing no dazzle or glare at all. Old halogen lights are history along with fluorescent tubes and glass light bulbs.
Thank you for your support...
