So I went on line to order some.
(A) You have to start out with filtering on "Made in USA" first, because MOST sites will NOT tell you where their stuff is made if it's made in China. If you can't find where it's made, you KNOW where it's made - China- once you get it and look at the label.
(B) If it's made in Bangladesh or Thailand or Mexico, they'll say so, with some sort of "Fair Trade Sourced" statement. I'm fine with that.
(C) You soon find which companies are honest about their sources. I ended up buying what I wanted at "Katin" (linked from a "made in USA" website, and at "Patagonia" (made in Thailand with a nice little picture of the factory).
The fact that it's hard to do is the surest sign that they don't want you to know what they are up to. But once you get used to the process, it's not so difficult any more. And I feel better knowing that I'm walking what I'm talking ....
