We are always hearing about “Too Much Politics!” and “All We Talk About Is Politics Any More!” here on IKBA.
So I went back to the end of August and counted and categorized the topics that have been started and discussed in that time. There are 125 topics total from August 31 to today.
Motorcycles, Gear, Racing, Rides, Motors, and Tools – 82 (Gearhead and greasy stuff)
Health/Social Issues- 14 (Sharing bike paths, the NHS saved my life)
Jokes and Jests – 13 (You KNOW who this is!)
Family/Friends = 5 (What my wife is doing, where is old so-and-so, movie star died)
Insurance, Registration, Bike Tax – 5 (Bloody DLVA, Post Office, Tax)
Politics/COVID – 4 (Trump, Johnson, Lockdowns)
Weather – 2 (It’s Cold Out)
So …. 82 “IKBA” topics, 39 “general interest” non-political topics, and 4 purely Political topics. So the question is ….
What on God’s green earth is the moaning about? Can people REALLY not just skip the 3% of topics that are political? I mean, me personal, I just completely skip any topic that has DLVA, SORN, Peter James, Carole Nash, Council Potholes, Lycra-Clad cyclists, ITV at 4:00 PM, and a few other local British-Only items and I don’t moan about it, I JUST SKIP IT!
If it says “Political” or is obviously so, can you just NOT read it and jump to the next subject? Instead of (A) Reading it (B) Getting Steamed and then (!!!!) actually POSTING about how you don't like it and it shouldn't be there and it's all going to hell isn't it?
I’m just asking. Is it unreasonable or am I from another planet or something?
