We didn't get paid 10% of what was owed us. The Russian attitude is "If you're stupid enough to believe that we'll pay you, and too weak to force us to pay, that's on YOU, not on us. Try again next time, bunkie ..."
We had to bail out of a huge solar project in India. We had the contract to supervise installation of our solar steam system covering a 100 acre site - the rule was (as it always is in India) that ALL the workers had to be Indian, you can't bring in anyone.
The workers would bring their little children to the job site, and they'd be playing on the bulldozers and cranes, climbing everywhere, playing tag, WHILE THE EQUIPMENT WAS RUNNING. We were very safety conscious, and told the workers they couldn't do that. They walked off the job, and we had to give it up and go home. It never did happen.
We have to realize that the Chinese and Indians had intercontinental trading empires when my ancestors were knapping flints in Central Europe. Their ways are not our ways, and never will be.
