I do occasionally watch dashcam clips from US traffic. (The Russian and Eastern European ones are useless because most of the incidents involve multiple drunks and suicidal tendencies).
Especially ones with motorcycles. I put myself in the place of the motorcyclist and say "All right, when does this guy do something that makes the crash unavoidable, AND COULD IT HAPPEN TO ME?"
In 90% of the cases, the rider did something so egregiously stupid that I just skip it and go on to the next. In about 9% of the cases, they are simply going faster than I would have gone in the same situation - not stupidly fast to the unpracticed eye, but (as 50 years riding experience and me still alive has shown me), too fast for the conditions.
Only a tiny fraction of the crashes are ones that would gotten ME if I had been carrying the camera, and I try to learn from each of them to try to make my own riding safer and more aware.
