I don't have a smartphone or Blackberry or Iphone ... I had one that the company issued me when I was working and used all the features on it so I know what it is they do ("Siri, who was that Indian actress in 'Slumdog Millionaire'?", but when I retired I just turned it back in and breathed a sigh of relief.
I know that some people can own and use them and control themselves, but I'm appalled by the number of people that I know, who USED to seem like normal, self-reliant people, who hug these damn things like teddy bears and SWEAR that they couldn't live without them, and get the DTs if they accidentally leave the house without it, or there's no cell coverage, or the battery goes flat. It's like living in a world of crack addicts.
