Never the less I can see why RE are so successful. It's perfectly targeted at a particular market. An excellent combination of style, performance for intended use, & value for money. However its not for me = I ride quite high mileages & want better performance, build quality & longer service intervals. As I am lucky & can afford other better bikes for my purposes I won't even consider a RE.
But it's great to see a simple down to earth traditional bike making such a well deserved impact on annual sales. Lets hope that impact inspires other manufacturers to offer equally good value for money bikes. I don't know but guess a great many REs are bought outright when BMWs (& others) are bought on finance/HP/PCP etc. Finance has become such a critical element for some dealerships they don't put cash prices on their websites = if they did people would see exactly how expensive the finance deals are and might not make a purchase!
