As for constant yakking in hospitals, that has been the norm on every occasion I have had cause to use one - and the staff are amongst the worst for it.
While waiting to be seen in A & E after breaking my collarbne in an "off" from a KR1, I could see into the main staff area. Two of the staff were having a personal conversation for over 20 minutes before the Senior nusre said something & one of them (from another department) left.
On other occasions with physio appointments I always booked the first of the day - in 8 weeks I was not once seen on time. All the staff were in, but sat around a table having cups of tea and chatting about what they had got up to the night before until chivvid into getting on with job.
