I've quit buying Chinese stuff, so I look first for "Made in USA" and if that's not available (and some things we just don't make here any more), then I go for "Made Anywhere But China".
For example, the standard Chinese hydraulic motorcycle work bench can be had for $300 on sale any time. I have one, and it does OK, but it's obviously made cheaply. The least expensive "Made in USA" one is about $800, but it's a heavy-duty lift that any shop would be happy to have as their full-time money-making tool.
I'm much happier now that all my newer stuff is made by folks that don't ... well, I won't go into it, but it's much nicer stuff and I feel better anyhow. Virtue-signalling if you like, but it's MY virtue at stake!
