That's good advice, because I have no idea what would have been done to a modern replica to boost the power and make it less tractable. You'd THINK that the old-time ISDT competitors would want a bit of powerband, and some low-end torque, and not have to bring it "on the pipe" and make it scream and spin the tire to get up a muddy hill, or take a wet curve on the road section (on knobbies, no less!)

BUT even if they did tune it like that, was it done via some hard-to-fix way like re-porting the cylinder, or was it just carb and pipe tuning?

Sounds like I have a little planning to do if I want to go that way.
