Yep, we do the same with squirrels to this day. A squirrel is about a pound of meat, and it's good fried or fricasseed or stewed. And they only cost 1 .22 bullet, which are still only about 5 cents each ....

I was just thinking of the day when the market stalls and butcher shops would have fresh geese, turkeys, and game birds hung up in the shop window, feathers and all.

My great-grandfather's day, here ....
