I am just waiting for the big bang on the overhead pylons once they all plug in. Imagine 125 kw going into a car. I think i might stand 100 yards away.
I will never own one as i am getting too old to see the final demise of the fueled car.
My petrol cost is not a problem even at 35 mpg as my mileage has come down a lot since retiring.
I still prefer diesel power but the makers are phasing them out fast now. Honda and Toyota will only make petrol hybrids next year. Loads are being made and a few around my area now. No one in my road has an electric car as they have no off street parking or garages in this town area. I have the only garage as i dug out my garden to build it and live on a corner plot. Other houses are all land locked with no rear access.
Many houses will have a lower price if they have nowhere to park and charge in the future.
