Why ? My brother's Leaf is several years old & it's battery was showing as having 97% of it's original capacity available at the last service.
He dosen't use the Leaf as a sole car (it can't tow his caravan) but does use it preferentially for most local journeys. It did get used for a 300 mile round trip for work on one occasion, but required 3 re-charges to do so. His Leaf has the bigger battery pack & a nominal 140 mile range under optimum conditions.
All the current electric options are way too expensive for me to consider. Current Hyundai i30 135hp TD 7 speed DCT estate bought as a 1 year old ex-demo with 6600 miles showing for £14.5K. Currently averaging low 50s mpg (mid 50s in summer) - normal weekly mileage of 380-ish miles typically costs around £36-37 a week with diesel locally ar £1.117 per litre. 1 service a year (3 year service plan cost £500 when I bought the car).
Can't see an electric car getting anywhere close to that to buy & run + "re-charging" only takes me 10 minutes max once a week & my "range" is then around 550 miles.
