Very good point about the death of the high street Jerry. When I was a kid we would drive into the centre of Southampton on Saturday mornings and park comfortably in the Above Bar section of the high street. Not every one had a car in those days.
Our traffic problems really took off 30 odd years ago when the baby boomers kids started taking to the roads.
