The previous rules specifically said you could go out for "recreation" (not defined), distance not defined. Few (except non-motorcycling cops?) would argue riding a motorcycle isn't recreation.

Now the rules specify "exercise" and "staying close to home"; personally, I wouldn't want to argue simply riding a motorcycle on the road say twenty miles from home counts as either? Mind, there is of course the previously-suggested option of carrying a pair of walking boots on the bike ...?

Also, were you out without the old mod, you could try the same as on another forum - "I'm old and live on my own, do you really want to stop me doing the only remaining thing that gives me any pleasure?" He says it worked for him.
